LAN-Experts
give you full advantage of sophisticated expert systems of LAN/WAN analysis. Customers do
not need to get through so-called trace files manually any longer. Trace file analysis is
done by automatic expert systems, even with multiple GB of measurement data. Network
physical errors, address schemes, domain structures (AD/DNS), client-server applications
are covered .. and yet more.
Data Recording
The general use of the popular Wireshark pushes in practice to its borders:
Permanent data recording (over weeks or months) is not fully supported
There is no scheduler which could control recording times on day-of-week basis
There is no check of measurement data if being proper and useful
There is no over-all reporting (no HTML report, no syslog, no mail notifications)
There is no administration of free hard disk space
There is no documentation of trace point configuration
.. and other missing items as well
In order to have all these functions available,TraceCommander had been developed for data-recording. TraceCommander takes care that the recorded network traffic is written to disk in an appropriate file format being optimal for later expert analysis via MintMagic and TraceMagic.
Data recording being controlled by TraceCommander does not use the Wireshark GUI but its background drivers and write-to-disk modules (Winpcap,TShark).
